Vision correction with ReLEx SMILE for both eyes package

Who benefits from ReLEx SMILE ?

• People who are nearsighted or nearsighted with astigmatism
• People between 20 and 55 years of age with the same prescription for the past 1 year (or have not had their prescription alter more than 0.50D in the last year)
• People over 40 years and who are nearsighted and also farsighted, 2 options are available: 1) Have surgery on both eyes to treat nearsightedness and use eyeglasses for reading and seeing up-close; 2) Have surgery on only one eye to correct vision to normal in order to see far objects clearly, with the other to see up-close. These options are based upon your current vision and age. The doctor will determine suitability and most appropriate treatment option.
• People who do not have a corneal disease such as keratoconus, severe dry eyes, or other eye condition which affects vision, including macular degeneration
• People who do not have any current health conditions which affect the healing process, autoimmune diseases such as SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus), psoriasis, or diabetes
• People who are not taking isotretinoin acne medications such as Roaccutane, Acnotin, and Isotret for at least 6 weeks prior
• People who have undergone an eye exam and are deemed healthy enough to undergo the surgery

Preparing for the Procedure

1. Avoid wearing soft contact lenses for at least three days and hard lenses for at least seven days.
2. Avoid overusing your eyes before the procedure as this can cause them to become dry.
3. Don’t wear make-up, perfume, or use hair products on the day of the procedure.
4. Wash your face and hair the day before or day of the procedure.

Post-Procedure Considerations

1. After the procedure plan to return home and rest your eyes as much as possible.
2. After the procedure a protective plastic patch will cover your eye to prevent you from touching it as well as to protect it from injury. The patch should be worn at bedtime for approximately one to two weeks.
3. Avoid washing your face and hair, but you may use a washcloth to clean your face and you can have your hair washed at the salon.
4. Use the eye drops prescribed by your doctor.
5. Keep all follow-up appointments.
6. If you experience any pain, take the medication prescribed by your doctor.
7. See your doctor immediately if you notice increased redness or discharge or if your vision worsens
